Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College is acting as a constituent college of K.L.E. University located at Belgaum and it was established in the year 1963 by the KLE Society. The college was established with the objective of becoming a center for excellence in the fields of medical education, health care services, research not only at the national level, but also at international levels.

Infrastructure:
Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College is constructed in a campus, which extends to an area more than 13 lakh square feet and 40 different laboratories are functioning under the college. The lecture halls in the college are gallery-type halls that can accommodate a number of students at the same time. The campus includes separate hostels for boys and girls and number of hostels for boys is five, while for girls it is six.
