Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi
The JNU which is abbreviated as Jawaharlal Nehru University was functional in the year 1969 was built with the name of Jawaharlal Nehru who was the first Prime minister of India. The university has its campus 1000 acres in the south Delhi area linked by two famous railway stations Nizzamudin railway station, and new Delhi railway station. It is near the IG (Indira Gandhi) Airport. So, it is easily accessible from anywhere in the world.
The Jawaharlal Nehru University is basically offering courses for research oriented work and at post graduate level.
The various schools offered includes school of life sciences, school of computer & system sciences, school of Biotechnology, school of language, literature & culture studies, School of IT or Information Technology, School of International Studies, School of Physical sciences. Along with the schools, The University has 4 special centres for study of Molecular Medicine, International trade & development, Sanskrit and Law & governance.
For the admission in JNU the candidates in the final year of graduation can fill the forms offered by JNU for the entrance examination in 2nd month of the year. The students can get admission forms from the official websites of JNU. After the entrance exam the students who get selected need to go through an Interview to finally confirm their admission.
There are 9 cultural Clubs of JNU for the students of the University, which include drama, photography, film, Nature and wildlife, Music, Fine arts etc.
The JNU also offers hostel facilities for students. It has 15 hostels including the one for married students, 7 for boys and 3 for girls and 4 have mixed wings for both boys and girls. These hostels have there names after the sacred rivers of India. The JNU has a sports complex or the JNU stadium, A basketball court and a badminton hall considering the all round development of the students in JNU.
