JSS Dental College, Mysore
JSS Dental College was established in the year 1986 and the dental courses offered by the college are recognized by Government of India and Dental Council of India. The college is affiliated to JSS University from the academic year 2008-09 and previously it was affiliated to Mysore University from the year 1986 and later it was affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences from the 1996-2008. The campus of the college is spread over an area of 5 acres of land, which is a part of the total area of 38 acres belonging to JSS Medical Institutions.

JSS Dental College is offering Bachelor of Dental Surgeon and Master of Dental Surgeon in nine special departments and they are as follows:
• Oral Pathology (BDS alone)
• Orthodontia
• Community Dentistry
• Prosthodontics
• Conservative Dentistry
• Periodontics
• Oral Surgery
• Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry
• Oral Medicine & Radiology
Eligibility Criteria:
For Bachelor of Dental Surgeon course, the candidates must have completed 10+2 with English as one of the main languages and chemistry, physics and biology as optional subjects with a minimum aggregate of 50% of marks in English alone and 50% of marks in chemistry, physics and biology combined together. For Master of Dental Surgeon course, the candidate must be a B.D.S. graduate from an institution approved by Dental Council of India with a minimum aggregate of 50% of marks.
Admission Details:
Admission is made by the college on the basis of the entrance examination conducted by JSS University every year in the month of April/May. Of the total number of seats, 80% of the seats are filled based on the performance of the students in the entrance examination, while the remaining 20% of the seats are reserved by the management for NRI candidates on merit basis.
Infrastructure:
Since the college is associated with hospital, each and every department is loaded with all essential instruments required for offering practical training to the students.
