Kausar College of Education came into existence in the year 2002 and the college offers education with affiliation from the University of Kashmir. It is a premier institution in the area of Srinagar for offering teacher education courses. The college follows the guiding principles and learning principles of the University of Kashmir to spread education and knowledge by maintain the high commitment of delivery of quality education.

B. Ed:

B. Ed stands for Bachelor of Education and the course extends to a period of 14 months. The college offers this course with four core papers namely:

• Essentials of Instructional Technology

• Development of Education System in India

• Psychology & Learning and Development

• Theory of Principles of Education

In addition to these subjects under core papers category, several other papers are offered under content-cum-methodology courses, special courses and partial courses. For getting into this course, candidates with not less than 45% of makrs (36% for reserved category) in degree level course in any stream of education like agriculture, engineering, biotechnology, information technology, business administration, computer applications, science, commerce and arts are eligible to apply. Candidates must have obtained this graduation mainly from the University of Kashmir and even students from other universities are eligible to apply. The process of admission to this course will be looked after by the admission committee right from the issuance of application to displaying of selected list of candidates.

ETTC:

The term ETTC stands for Elementary Teacher Training Course and the duration of this course is two years on successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded with Diploma in ETTC. The course is meant for candidates with 10+2 qualification and this course is affiliated to the Board of School Education. The subjects under this course are divided into four parts namely co-scholastic area, teaching practice, pedagogical papers and foundation papers.
