Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala conducts the entrance examination for all the postgraduate aspirants in the medical profession. The PG Medical Entrance score is a mandatory requirement for the candidates to get admission in the government Medical colleges in Kerala. Every year at the month of February the Kerala CEE carry out the PG Medical entrance exam on behalf of the Directorate of Medical Education, Kerala.

Structure and Syllabus for Kerala PG Medical Exam

The Entrance examination for the Medical PG course covers the syllabus of MBBS and is of objective in nature. The examination carried out through two different papers,

Paper I

Pre-clinical: 150 Questions (120 Minutes)

Paper II

Clinical subjects: 150 Questions (120 Minutes)

One mark will be taken for the wrong response and four marks will be given for the right choices. The common syllabus for the exam is,

  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology: 20 Questions

  • Orthopaedics including Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation:  7 Questions

  • Dermatology and Venereology: 7 Questions

Eligibility Criteria

The basic requirement for taking the examination is bachelor’s degree in Medicine, MBBS from the universities in Kerala or the university recognized by the Universities in the state. The Candidate should be an Indian national with Kerala Origin. They should complete their compulsory Rotating Resident Internships before the notification period. The upper-age bound of the candidates is limited to 45 years. The candidates belonging to the special category will get the eligible relaxation.

How to Apply?

The candidates seeking admission into the PG medical courses under the government colleges can get the application for the entrance examination in the website of CEE, www.cee-kerala.org . There won’t be any physical sale of the application form. The fee should be remitted to the SBT branches across Kerala. The cost of the application is Rs.1,000/- for the general applicants and Rs.500/- for the reserved group.

How to fill the Form?

The instruction for filling up the form is available in the website. The candidates should go through the guidelines before filling the online form. The applicants need to upload their photo in jpg size and so you need to have a scanned copy ready to upload while filing the form. The candidates should carefully click the combo box against each question. After submitting the information take the print outs of the filled form and send it along with the original fee receipt with other necessary attachments to the submission address.

Study Plan

The applicants should prepare for the examination as early as possible. They have to cover their bachelor’s syllabus completely to score a good rank in the examination. They can refer the textbooks and the study note during their study time. The training centres and the reference books for various Medical PG entrance exams are helpful for the aspirants. Practice with the previous year’s questions and with the model papers. Take the mock test by strictly following the time frame.

Cutoff

For the general category the qualifying benchmark for the entrance examination is set to be 50% and that of the reservation group it is 40%.

How and Where To Get the Results?

The result of the examination is published in the Kerala CEE website. The students can also view their result in the Directorate of Medical Education, Kerala official website.

Score Validity

The score of the entrance examination is valid for two months after the result is published. The candaites can submit the score card to the medical colleges for the PG admission program.
