Institute of Fashion Technology & Apparel Design is an exclusive college for women established by K.L.E. Society, which is a popular society with a number of educational institutions. The Institution is affiliated to Karnatak State Women University located at Bijapur.
Course Details:
As the name implies, Institute of Fashion Technology and Apparel Design offers Bachelor of Fashion Technology and the duration of the course is three years, which is divided into six semesters. The intake capacity of the institution for this course is 40 students per year. The college covers subject and syllabus for this course with a view to meet futuristic, contemporary and basic requirements of the industry of fashion.
Eligibility for Admission:
For getting admission to the Bachelor of Fashion Technology course offered by the college, candidates must have completed their Pre-University examination in either commerce/arts/science stream. Candidates who have completed their diploma in fashion/textile/handloom technology can get direct admission to the second year of the course.
Special features of the institution:
The college is arranging in-plant training to the students in popular fashion bands, buying houses, garment factories and fashion houses to improve the hands-on skill factors and knowledge of the students. Every year, the college is arranging for campus interviews for offering employment opportunities to the students. The institution has also tied with several Non-Government organizations for offering training to unemployed women in sewing technology.
Facilities offered by the institution:
The college has a dedicated library with quality magazines and books with broadband internet connection. Other facilities offered by the college are hostel facility, playground, etc…Above all, to display the talents of the students in the final year of the course, the college is conducting fashion-cum-exhibition utsav every year.
