Kurukshetra University conducts Ph.D in Mathematics Entrance Exam annually for admitting eligible students into Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics course offered at the University. The University admits students by taking into consideration the marks scored by them in the entrance test.

Structure of Kurukshetra University Ph.D in Mathematics Entrance Exam

This Entrance Test has two papers. Paper 1 includes 50 objective type questions. The total time allotted for this paper is 100 minutes and the total marks one could get for this paper is100.Paper 2 will include subjective type questions. This paper includes 20 questions. Five questions will be there from each of the topics in the syllabus. Five marks will be given for each question and the time specified for this paper is 2 hours.

Eligibility Criteria

Students with a Master’s degree in Mathematics with a minimum aggregate of 55% can attend this Entrance Test. The degree should be from any recognized University. A relaxation will be there for the handicapped applicants and for those who are from the backward categories.

How to apply?

Application forms will be available on the official website of this University. The students can get it by logging into http://www.kuk.ac.in. An application fees of Rs.40/- should be paid by the general category applicants. The blind applicants of Haryana and those who belong to reserved categories need to pay only Rs.10/-. The filled up application forms need to be sent to “The Director/Chairperson, Institute/Department of Mathematics, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra-136119”.

How to fill the Form?

One should first of all be clear about the instructions provided in the brochure for filling the form. Keep ready all the requisite documents which will be helpful in filling the form. The personal details should be filled in the right places as mentioned in the brochure. The important official information should be entered correctly in the proper places without any errors. All the entered data should be relevant. The latest photograph must be affixed properly in the column specified. The signature should be rightly put in the specified boxes. One should make sure that the completely filled form reaches the correct address on or before the due date specified.

Study Plan

One should prepare a systematic study plan to successfully clear the test with very good marks. They should be able to analyze their strong areas as well as the weak areas while making a study plan. More time should be allotted to the weak areas whereas comparatively less time should be allotted to strong areas. It is advised not to continuously study for long hours.
