Life Insurance Corporation of India has invited applications from Indian citizens for the profile of ‘Direct Sales Executive’. Though graduation is the basic qualification requited, candidates with graduation or diploma in marketing or management will be given preference. Lower and upper age limit insisted for the position is 21 and 35 years respectively. Selection of eligible candidate is made through a written test and interview. Topics on general knowledge, numerical ability, sales aptitude, and reasoning are asked for written test.

Eligibility Criteria for LIC ‘Direct Sales Executive’ Recruitment 2013

Bachelor’s degree from any of the recognized Indian University is the basic qualification required. Those with graduation or diploma in marketing or management will be given preference. Candidate should have good working knowledge in English language. It is desirable to have knowledge in any one of the regional language, especially the local language. Other than these qualifications, it is an added advantage, if candidates have soft skills like Power Point, Word, and Excel.

Apart from educational qualifications, applicants should satisfy certain age requirements. They should have completed 21 years to apply. Upper age limit for the candidate is 35 years. Those belonging to scheduled caste or scheduled tribe can apply up to 40 years. Members of OBC category can apply to the maximum age of 38 years. Upper age limit for ex service men is 35 years. This may be increased in accordance with the number of years of service in the armed forces. In that case also, the upper age limit is 42 years. OBC candidates can apply up to 45 years and SC/ST up to 47 years. LIC agents or spouse of the employee of LIC are not eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure for LIC ‘Direct Sales Executive’ Recruitment 2013

Selection of eligible candidate is made through a written test and interview. Written test is conducted in objective model covering questions from the following topics.

  • General Knowledge
  • Numerical Ability
  • Sales aptitude
  • Test of Reasoning

Those who got qualified in the written test are asked for attending interview. Aspirants who can get through interview are checked for medical fitness. Medical test is conducted by an authorized medical examiner appointed by LIC. Medically proven candidates must pass IRDA licensing test as the very next step. This is to obtain the license for life insurance business. The qualification must be obtained via at most three attempts and within a maximum time period of three months. Such candidates are given with training to serve under the profile of ‘Direct Sales Executive’.
