This university was previously working as a medical college and it earned the status of Deemed University in the year 1994 with a number of constituent colleges in the faculties of allied health sciences, biomedical sciences & technology, management sciences, physiotherapy, nursing, pharmacy and dental sciences under its jurisdiction.
