Public Service Commission in the state of West Bengal was established by the Government of West Bengal for selection of appropriate candidates for different government jobs positions arising in the state. The commission recruits candidates on the basis of recruitment examination and interview.

Public Service Commission, West Bengal has invited applications from eligible candidates for the position of Medical Technologist (X-Ray) Grade III in the Directorate of ESI (MB) Scheme under Labor Department and here are the details regarding the notification issued by the commission in this respect:

Name of the Vacancy: Medical Technologist (X-Ray) Grade III

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 23, which is divided among the different category as follows:

• SC – 06

• ST – 01

• OBC (Category A) – 02

• OBC (Category B) – 03

• Persons with disability (Low vision or blindness) – 01

Apart from these reservations, the other vacancies are applicable for general category candidates.

Pay scale: Candidates selected for the position of Medical Technologist (X-Ray) Grade III in Public Service Commission, West Bengal will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.7100-37600 with Grade Pay of Rs.3600 under pay band 3.

Educational qualification:

Candidates must have passed their higher secondary examination from the higher secondary education Council of the state of West Bengal with biology, chemistry and physics subjects with two-year diploma in Radiography (Diagnostics) DRD technology approved by the West Bengal Government.

Desirable qualification:

One-year training after getting diploma in Radiography (Diagnostic) DRD Technology recognized by the West Bengal Government in any government hospital or in a clinical establishment licensed under the West Bengal Clinical Establishment Rules 2003. Even candidates with PG Diploma in Radiography (Diagnostic) DRD Technology from a recognized university will be given preference.

Age requirement:

Upper age limit is 37 years as on the 1st of January 2011.

Candidates must enclose Indian Postal Order worth Rs.160 along with their application endorsed and crossed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal or by receipted challan from the Government Treasury in the West Bengal or the RBI, Kolkata under the head ‘0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees’. The postal order should be payable at GPO, Kolkata and cash, Bank draft, cheque and MO will not be accepted.
