Government of Maharashtra is conducting the common entrance test for all the professional aspirants of the state called Maharashtra common Entrance test, MHT CET. The Maharashtra Medical common Entrance examination is meant for those students who seek admission in Medical courses in the Colleges in Maharashtra.

Structure of MHT Medical CET

The 3 hour long exam will have 2 papers each of 1 and ½ hour duration.

  • Paper I – Physics and Chemistry (50 + 50 marks)
  • Paper II – Botany and Zoology (50 + 50 marks)

The questions will have multiple selections for the correct answer. Negative marking policy will not be there for this exam.

The MHT Medical CET follows the same syllabus of the Higher Secondary Examinations in Maharashtra approved by the Maharashtra Board of Examinations.

Eligibility Criteria

As per the rules, the candidates should be Indian Nationals between 17 – 25 years of age as on the month of December of the year of admission. For admissions to MBBS and BAMS, the candidates must be qualified in Higher Secondary or equivalent exams approved by Recognized Boards with over 50% aggregate for Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. Candidates about to attend the 10+2 exams may also apply if they satisfy the age limit.

How to Apply?

General Category students have to pay Rs 700/- which includes fees for Registration to the exam, Form and particulars. Reservation category need pay only Rs 500/-. The forms will be on sale in the various Educational Institutions of Maharashtra. The candidates may obtain it from the Institution where they had completed their Higher Secondary classes. The required demand draft of the fee should be in favor of “Competent Authority MH – CET, Mumbai,” on any scheduled commercial Bank, payable at Mumbai and should be submitted to the respective Institutions.

How to fill the Form?

Candidates are reminded that the forms are to be filled in their own handwriting neatly with black ink ballpoint or gel pens. The candidates are also advised to seek proper guidance from teachers to fill the form. The form shouldn’t be sent uncomplete.

Date of CET: 2nd week of May, 2012

Declaration of Results: Mid week of June, 2012
