Mizoram Law College holds the pride of being the only law college in the whole state of Mizoram and the college came into existence in the year 1983. Recently in the year 2008, the college celebrated its silver jubilee year and before its amalgamation with Llan Dingupia Law College in the year 2004, the college was functioning with its name as Aizawl Law College. The college is affiliated to the Bar Council of India, Mizoram University and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission under section 2 (f).

Course Details:

The only course offered by the Mizoram Law College is LL.B and it is a three-year unitary course. Initially, Mizoram Law College was following non-semester pattern of education and right from the academic year 2010-2011, semester system of education is being followed by the college. Every year, legal education is being offered to more than 100 students by a team of dedicated lecturers. The college also has a study centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University through which a wide range of diploma and certificate courses is offered.

Services offered to the students:

Mizoram Law College is facilitating its students through different schemes of the University Grants Commission. A Network Resource Centre of the UGC is also functioning in the college to offer internet connectivity to the students. In addition, services like career and counseling cells, coaching for entry into services and remedial coaching are also offered to help the students in healthy progression and to provide them with professional guidance in such a way that they can attain better career opportunities. The college offers scholarships like Post Matric Scholarship and Merit-cum-means based scholarship for the sake of poor-meritorious students.

College Library:

Mizoram Law College has a well-equipped library with a vast collection of books ranging from law journals like GLT, SCC, AIR, etc… and several textbooks pertaining to law. Students and staff members of the college are permitted access to the library and they are advised not to lend the books to outsiders due to risk of damage to books.
