Pachhunga University College, Aizawl
Panchhunga University College is working under the guidance of Mizoram University and it was established in the year 1958 on the 15th of August with its name as ‘Ajjal College’. The college enjoys the pride of being the first educational institution for higher studies in Mizoram. After this, the college was renamed as Pachhunga Memorial College in honor of Mr. Pachhunga, who donated a huge amount for the development of the college. In the year 1965, Assam Government took over the college and named it as Pachhunga Memorial Government College. In the year 1979, the North Eastern Hill University took over the college under its jurisdiction and changed its name as Pachhunga University College. Again, in the year 2001, the college came under the jurisdiction of Mizoram University with its same name.
Courses Offered:
The college is offering Bachelor of Arts and Science in different subjects and Bachelor of Commerce. All these courses are offered both in general as well as honors category.
Admission Procedure:
After obtaining the application form from the premises of the college, the students who wish to apply for the college, should submit the duly filled in application form to the college within 10 days from the date of publication of +2 results. Selection is made on merit basis and college authorities set other rules from time to time.
Eligibility Criteria for admission:
For honors degree course in arts, science and commerce streams of education, the students must have secured a minimum percentage of 45 in the subject covered at higher secondary education and 50% marks in aggregate for the subject not covered at +2 level. Even candidates who have studied arts and science subjects at their +2 level can apply for honors degree in commerce provided she/he has scored a minimum aggregate of 45% of marks.

The college is offering several facilities like transportation, library, clinic, sports and hostels for the sake of students.
