M.Sc. in Applied Microbiology
Microbiology, as the name suggests is the science that deals with the microorganism. By microorganism, we mean the biological species that are extremely small, of the micro order in length. Thus, micro biology includes the study of the life of these microorganisms. Since these microorganisms cannot be studied under the normal biology, hence a new wing of biology is formed called Micro Biology.
Applied Microbiology is a bit different from this microbiology. In Applied microbiology, one has to study the various kinds of new methods of application of thee microorganisms. The study of applied microbiology includes study of the application of these microorganism and their products. M.sc in applied microbiology being a master’s level course deals with the application in a more detailed way. The approach towards the topics are of more depth and deals with more variety of topics.
Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be eligible for this course, one will have to be at least a graduate in a field related to biology or microbiology. The certificate of graduation should be from a well-recognized university of India.
Course Outlook:
The course duration of the course of M.Sc in applied Microbiology is 2 years. The 2 year is separated in to 4 semesters of 6 months each.
Job Prospects:
There are plenty of places where this degree holder can be placed. One can join wine industry, or any research and development wing of various industries. Even industries having fermentation processes done in them can recruit this degree holder. Teaching is another option after successfully completing this course.
