National Institute of Technology, Patna is the 18th National Institute of Technology created by the Ministry of H.R.D, Government of India and was previously known as Bihar College of Engineering Patna. The institute is amongst the oldest engineering colleges of India and offers a number of undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programs to the candidates. The institute provides supreme conditions for studying.  

Campus:

NIT Patna is located behind the Gandhi Ghat on the southern bank of river Ganga. Patna Junction Railway Station is at a distance of 8 kms from its campus and Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport, Patna is at a distance of 20 kms. The institute campus is spread over an area of 60 acres that accommodates various academic buildings, library and sports field. The library has a stock of over 50,000 books and various e-journals.

Courses Offered:

The main courses offered by this institute in different streams are Architecture, Computer Science & Engg., Electrical Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg., Civil Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engg., and well established departments of physics, Mathematics and Humanities and Social Science.

Admission Procedure:

The candidates have to give an entrance test termed as AIEEE for undergraduate courses. The candidates appearing for postgraduate courses have to give GATE exam. The candidates appearing in undergraduate courses need to pass 10+2 with Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English as their main subjects.
