The university aims to accomplish excellence in the field of education and research. The university conducts entrance test to choose the eligible candidates for the post graduate courses.

Structure of Osmania University M.Com Entrance Exam

The entrance exam comprises of 100 objective type questions. The students will be alloted 90 minutes to complete the exam. The exam pattern includes comprehension of a research study/experiment/theoretical point of view, analogies, matching, and classification.

Part – A (40 marks)

• Business Laws: Quasi Contracts, State and National Level Councils, Doctrine of Ultravires, Law of Contracts, Companies Act 1956 including Appointment
• Cost and Management Accounting: Methods of costing including job costing and process costing, Nature and scope of Cost and Management Accounting, Ratio Analysis includes the interpretation of accounting ratios, Elements of cost including material cost
• Business Communication and Report Writing: Verbal and nonverbal communication, Role of communication in business including basic elements of communication, Report writing, Business letters
• General English (Comprehension): Comprehending a passage, Antonyms, Synonyms

Part – B (60 marks)

• Financial Accounting: Consignment and joint ventures, Depreciation and reserves, Branch and departmental accounts, Bank reconciliation statement and bills of exchange, Accounting process, Partnership accounts, Company accounts
• Quantitative Techniques: Geometric and harmonic mean, Theories of addition and multiplication theorem, Functions and limitations of statistics, Tabulation and diagrammatic representation of data, Analysis of time series, Measures of dispersion, mean deviation, range, standard deviation, and quartile deviation, Binomial, Poisson and normal distribution
• Industrial Organization and Management: Representative firm, Introduction to management including definitions, Structure and size of industry including optimum firm, Planning and organization, Forms of business organizations, Liberalization, privatization, and globalization, Concepts of business
• Business Economics: Theories of distribution and business cycles, Introduction to Economics, Demand analysis and theories of production, Nature, scope, and importance including micro and macro economics, Market structure and pricing

Eligibility Criteria

To pursue M.Com in Osmania University, the candidates should have completed B.Com in any stream from a recognized university. They are required to achieve a minimum of 40% marks in graduation. The eligible candidates are selected on the basis of the entrance exam conducted by the university.

How to Apply?

The candidates can collect the application form with ICR sheet from the Osmania University press. The applicant is required to remit a fee of Rs. 100/- in cash for the application form. The application forms with ICR sheet can be downloaded from the official website www.osmania.ac.in as well. They should send the completed form along with a Demand Draft to the respective authority. The candidates are required to take a DD of Rs. 300/- for each subject. The application forms can also be obtained through post on a payment of Rs. 100/- by Demand Draft. Along with the DD, there should be a self addressed envelope also. The DD taken by the applicant must be payable at Hyderabad. Moreover, it should be taken in the name of The Director, Publication and Press, Hyderabad from any nationalized bank. Finally, send the completed application, ICR sheet and a DD of Rs.150/- to the Director, Osmania University.

• Go through the prospectus carefully
• Fill all the boxes in the form neatly
• The completed application form should not have any vacant column
• Choose the options in the application carefully
• Fill the ICR sheet along with the form
• Enter the name in the ICR sheet same as in the original certificate
• One column between the first name and the surname should be left vacant
