Structure of Osmania University PhD Economics Entrance Exam

The questions of this exam will be objective in nature with multiple choices. The total time duration of the exam will be 90 minutes. The medium of the test will be in English. The candidate requires at least 30% marks in order to pass this exam. In the case of reserved category candidates there will be a considerable relaxation for the percentage required to pass this exam. The candidates who pass this exam will have to undergo a face to face interview which will be the final screening before getting admitted into this course.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should have successfully completed a Post graduate degree in Economics from any of the recognized Universities to be eligible to appear for the exam. The candidate who procured a Post graduate degree through distance mode are also eligible to appear for this exam subject to the condition that the University should be recognized by Distance Education council (DEC) located at New Delhi. The candidate should have scored at least 55% marks in the qualifying exam in order to apply for the test.

How to apply?

The candidate can procure the application form along with the brochure from Director, Department of Publications and Press, Osmania University. The form costs Rs.100/-. Another mode is to request the form through post. For that they have to send a request for form along with a DD of Rs.100/- in favour of “The Director, Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University” and payable at Hyderabad.”. The candidate should also enclose a self addressed cover along with the request for the application form. The candidate should send the completed application form along with a DD of Rs.550/- in favour of “The Director, Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University” payable at Hyderabad to The Director, Directorate of Admissions, Near University Press, Osmania University, Hyderabad – 500007.

How to fill the Form?

Before filling up the form the candidate has to first go through the instructions given in the brochure. They should fill the form very accurately without making any errors. The candidate must affix his recent pass port size photographs in the appropriate places mentioned. After filling up the form the candidate should cross check the details entered in the form so as to ensure that no data is incorrect and no important places are left blank.
