Out of these organizations, some organizations like PDPM Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing, Delhi Technological University and Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology offered consolidated pay scale for the position of Assistant librarian and some organizations like High Court of Punjab and Haryana and High Court of Madhya Pradesh offered a different pay brand for this position.

Educational qualification required for this position:

As far as educational qualification for the position of Assistant Librarian in government organizations is concerned, candidates must have completed their Master’s degree in Library & information sciences or documentation science with good academic record. Some organizations require that candidates must possess computerized library knowledge. Organization like High Court of Punjab and Haryana and High Court of Madhya Pradesh required that candidates must be Bachelor’s Degree holders in library and information sciences.

Age requirement:

The minimum age requirement for the position of Assistant Librarian in Government organizations is 18 years and the maximum age requirement differs from one organization to another. However, candidates should not be more than 35 years of age to apply for the position of Assistant Librarian.

Responsibilities of an assistant librarian:

The assistant librarian will be responsible for checking books getting in and going out of the library. Their other duties include helping catalog library materials, repairing damaged books, dealing directly with patrons, to answer for their concerns & locating books and other resources as required. They will also be responsible for performing any other library related duties as given by the Librarian or chief librarian of the organization for which they are appointed.
