Guru Nanak Dev University was established on November 24, 1969 on the occassion of the 500th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The university is both a residential as well as an affiliating university. The university was established under the Guru Nanak Dev University Act 1969.The major objective of the university is to impart education and promote research work in the fields like humanities, learned professions, sciences and especially of applied nature and technology.

Guru Nanak Dev University (Amritsar) is inviting applications from the eligible candidates for the posts of Professor, Principal, Associate professor, Assistant professor etc. The post of Professor, Associate professor and Assistant Professor are available in various disciplines. Candidates will be recruited at GNDU Campus (Amritsar). GNDU Regional Campus (Jalandhar), GNDU Regional Campus (Gurdaspur), GND Regional Campus (Sathiala) and Amardeep Secondary School (Mukandpur).

1. Recruitment of Professor:
No. of posts: Only 10 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D degree in the concerned discipline with ten years of experience in research and teaching field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.

2. Recruitment of Principal:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Educational Qualification: MA or M.Sc. or M.Com with atleast 55% marks in aggregate. Atleast 8 years of experience in the field of teaching is required.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 12000 per month.

3. Recruitment of Associate Professor:
No. of posts: Only 17 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D degree in the concerned discipline with atleast 55% marks in aggregate at Master’s degree. Eight years of experience in research and teaching field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 9000.

4. Recruitment of Assistant Professor:
No. of posts: Only 16 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Atleast 55% marks in aggregate at Master’s degree from a recognized university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.

5. Recruitment of Director, Public Relations:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university atleast 55% marks in aggregate. Knowledge of punjabi language is must.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5000.

6. Recruitment of Landscape Officer:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Land Scaping & Forticulture with atleast 555 marks in aggregate. Atleast 2 years of experience in the land scaping or forticulture.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5000.
