National Institute of Technology Patna was established in the year 1886 by the Ministry of H.R.D. Government of India. It is the 18th National Institute of Technology and has been granted a fully autonomous status of the Government of India. The major objective of the institute is to provide high level education in Patna.

Job profile:

Candidates can apply for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor depending on their educational qualification.

Educational Qualifications:

Candidates are required to have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering with first class for applying for the post of Assistant professor while Ph.d. with first class degree at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in engineering is required for the posts of Associate Professor and Professor.

No. of posts: There are 16 posts available for Professor designation, 18 posts for Associate Professor designation and 33 posts for the designation of Assistnat Professor.

Pay scale:

Professor: Rs. 37400-67000 + AGP of Rs. 10000/-
Associate Professor: Rs. 37400-67000 + AGP of Rs. 9000/-
Assistant Professor: Rs. 15600-39100 + AGP of Rs. 6000/-

Selection process:

Candidates will have to undergo a written examination. Candidate’s performance in the examination will play a major part in the final selection for the posts.
