The West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) was established on January 1, 2003 in the state of Kolkata. The university resulted after the West Bengal University of Health sciences Act 2002 was passed by the West Bengal Legislature. The major function of the university is to provide the undergraduate. post graduate and post doctoral courses to the students. The university also provides the Ph.D. programmes as well in different discipline. The university has also affiliated several new colleges throught the state.
