Ministry of Health & Family Welfare is setting up six autonomous institutions of National Importance and for filling up the vacancy of professor in these institution, the ministry has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens or candidates of Indian origin holding OCI status on contractual, deputation and regular basis and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this regard:

Of these 27 posts for Professor, 07 posts are reserved for OBC candidates, 04 for SC candidates and 02 for ST candidates.

Pay Scale: Appointed candidates will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.37400-67000 with AGP of Rs.10500 plus NPA for medically qualified candidates.

Eligibility requirements:

Qualification: Qualification requirements might be relaxed for highly reputed, trained and experienced candidates at the discretion of search-cum-selection committee. However, general conditions are:

• PG degree from an institution recognized by MCI or equivalent in the concerned subject. For pathology post, a PG degree in lab medicine will be considered

• Ph. D or equivalent in pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, physiology and anatomy from a recognized institution will be considered for non-medical candidates

• As far as nursing position is concerned, educational qualification requirement will be according to the recommendations of Nursing Council of India

Experience: Candidates must possess 13 years of teaching/research experience after qualifying degrees or four years experience as additional professor.

Age: Upper age limit is 58 years, which is relaxable for government servants/OBC/ST/SC candidates up to 5 years and relaxation is applicable for exceptionally deserving candidates as well.

Selection Procedure:

Candidates will be short-listed for interview based on the recommendation of search-cum-selection committee. Interview will be held at New Delhi or at respective AIIMS.
