Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of the Indian Government is shortly called as MOHFW and it has four departments under its control. In addition, the office of the Directorate General of Health Services is attached to the office of the Department of Health & Family Welfare for rendering technical advice on all public health and medical matters to the ministry.

Recruitment by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare:

Ministry of Health & Family Welfare is setting up six autonomous AIIMS institutions of National Importance and for filling up the vacancy of Assistant professor in these institution, the ministry has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens or candidates of Indian origin holding OCI status on contractual, deputation and regular basis and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this regard:

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 48, which is divided among different subjects for which Assistant professors are required is given below:

Anatomy – 05

Physiology – 04

Biochemistry – 03

Pathology/lab medicine – 02

Microbiology  - 02

Pharmacology – 01

Forensic medicine & toxicology – 01

Community medicine/family medicine – 02

General medicine – 01

Psychiatry – 01

Pediatrics – 01

General surgery – 01

Trauma & emergency – 12

Orthopedics- 01

Ophthalmology – 01

Obst. & Gyn. – 01

ENT – 01

Radio Diagnosis – 01

Anesthesiology – 01

Dentistry – 01

Transfusion medicine & Blood bank – 01

Radio Therapy – 01

Pulmonary Medicine – 01

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation – 01

Nursing - 01

Of these 48 posts for Assistant Professor, 12 posts are reserved for OBC candidates, 08 for SC candidates and 04 for ST candidates.

Pay Scale: Appointed candidates will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.37400-67000 with AGP of Rs.9000 plus NPA for medically qualified candidates.

Eligibility requirements:

Qualification: Qualification requirements might be relaxed for highly reputed, trained and experienced candidates at the discretion of search-cum-selection committee. However, general conditions are:

PG degree from an institution recognized by MCI or equivalent in the concerned subject. For pathology post, a PG degree in lab medicine will be considered

Ph. D or equivalent in pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, physiology and anatomy from a recognized institution will be considered for non-medical candidates

As far as nursing position is concerned, educational qualification requirement will be according to the recommendations of Nursing Council of India

Experience: Candidates must possess 3 years of teaching/research experience after qualifying degrees or three years experience as Senior Resident/equivalent.

Age: Upper age limit is 50 years, which is relaxable for government servants/OBC/ST/SC candidates up to 5 years and relaxation is applicable for exceptionally deserving candidates as well.

Selection Procedure:

Candidates will be short-listed for interview based on the recommendation of search-cum-selection committee. Interview will be held at New Delhi or at respective AIIMS.

Cost of application:

Application fee is Rs.500 for general category candidates and Rs.100 for SC/ST candidates, which should be paid by means of DD drawn in favor of the Director, AIIMS, Patna payable at Patna or payment can also be made online to bank account no. 4460110005393 with IFSC Code BKID0004460.
