Rourkela Institute of Management Studies shortly called as RIMT was founded in the year 1984 and now the institute has earned the status of one of the important Business Schools in the country. Some of the courses offered by the institution are approved by Sambalpur University, while other courses are affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology.

Course Details:

As mentioned earlier, RITM is a business school offering Master of Business Administration and Master of Computer Application. The duration of both these courses is two years and the institute follows grading system of evaluation for the courses.

Eligibility for admission:

For getting admission to the MBA course offered by the institute, candidates must be degree holders in any discipline from any university in the state of Orissa or any other university approved by the University Grants Commission. For MCA course, candidates must have completed their degree in any discipline from any university approved by UGC and for this course, candidates must have studied mathematics as a subject either at 10+2 or at degree level. Candidates with business mathematics will not be considered for admission and there is no age limit for both these courses.

Admission Procedure:

Admission to the MCA and MBA course is made on the basis of the marks secured by the students in the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the Orissa State Government. For MBA course alone, marks secured by the students in the Management Aptitude Test conducted by All India Management Association will also be taken into consideration.

Training and placement cell at RIMS:

The training and placement cell functioning under the institution endeavors to offer job seeking and career planning assistance to the students. The cell facilitates summer placement opportunities to the students and in addition to doing this, the institute also arranges programmes on campus placements like mock interviews, group discussion, etc…and the cell is headed by a well-trained professional.
