National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute was established as an autonomous institute under the Government of India. The institute comes under the Department of Biotechnology which in turn comes under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The institute is located at Mohali, Punjab. The major idea behind the establishment of the institute was to lead the transformation of agri-food sector in India. The institute actually came into existence as a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science. One of the major function of the institute is to develop synergy among knowledge providers.

Job Profile:

National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute is recruiting eligible and qualified candidates on the posistions of Scientists as faculty at various levels in the areas of nutritional biotechnology, genomics, nanoscience and bioinformatics.

1. Recruitment of Scientists-G:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 50 years as on 31 March 2011.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. degree from any recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.

2. Recruitment of Scientists-F:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 50 years as on 31 March 2011.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. degree from any recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 8900.

3. Recruitment of Scientists-E:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 45 years as on 31 March 2011.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. degree from any recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 8700.

4. Recruitment of Scientists-D:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 40 years as on 31 March 2011.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. degree from any recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 7600.

5. Recruitment of Scientists-C:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 35 years as on 31 March 2011.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. degree from any recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

Application Fee:

Rs. 100 is the amount of application fee that is need to be submitted by the candidates belonging to General and OBC cateories. No application fee is to be paid by the reserved categories canddiates. The application fee must be submitted through Demand Draft issued by State Bank of India only. The Demand Draft must eb drawn in favour of Executive Director, National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute, Mohali payable at Phase- 1 Br., Mohali.
