Commission profile: It is an autonomous body under the ministry of health and family welfare (govt. of India). It works on setting up of standards for drugs, technologies, pharmaceuticals, health care devices etc. The main aim is promote health care by standardizing and adding quality to products like drugs, pharmaceuticals etc.

Job profile: The senior scientific officers will be required to carry the research and development work in the field of pharmaceuticals, microbiology, biotechnology etc. They will be required to perform experiments, develop new procedures and methods etc. They will also be required to execute various project activities.

Eligibility: A candidate must be below the age of 40 years. However, the relaxation can be claimed.

Educational Qualifications: A candidate must have a post graduate degree in pharmaceutical science or biochemistry or biotechnology or chemistry or pharmacology or microbiology from a recognized university. A candidate must also have a minimum experience of 7 years the field of pharmaceuticals and a relevant research experience. A candidate with the PhD degree will be preferred.

No. of posts: There are 2 posts in total which includes 1 post for OBC and 1 for General category.

Pay scale: The scientific officers will get a pay scale of Rs15600-39100 with a grade pay of Rs6600.

Selection process: The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance during the interview.
