Employees’ State Insurance Corporation was formed by the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 under Government of India. The scheme was inaugurated on February 24, 1952 by then Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Dr. C. L. Katial was the first Director General of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation. The scheme was simultaneoulsy launched in the state of Delhi. The corporation was started with the aim of providing health insuarnce scheme for factory workers. The coproration has emerged as a self financing social security scheme in recent times.

Job Profile:

Applications are invited from eligible and qualified candidates for filling up the vacant posts of Stenographer, Upper Division Clerk and Multitasking Staff in the regional office of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation located at Punjab. Only eligible Indian Nationals are invited to apply for the following posts:

1. Recruitment of Stenographer:
No. of posts: Only 3 posts are available.
Age Limit: Candidates should have age more than 18 years but less than 27 years as on 19 January 2012.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary or 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized board with minimum speed of 80 words per minute in Stenography (English/Hindi). Candidates should also possess working knowledge of Computer applications.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2400.

2. Recruitment of Upper Division Clerk:
No. of posts: Only 46 posts are available.
Age Limit: Candidates should have age more than 18 years but less than 27 years as on 19 January 2012.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed degree from a recognized university. Besides this, candidates should also possess working knowledge of computer applications.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2400.

3. Recruitment of Multitasking Staff:
No. of posts: Only 71 posts are available.
Age Limit: Candidates should have age more than 18 years but less than 25 years as on 19 January 2012.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board, for being eligible for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 1800.

Application Fee:

The application fee of prescribed amount is need to be submitted by interested candidates. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Serviceman categories, are exempted from the payment of the application fee. Women candidates are also exempted from the payment of application fee. The application fee should be paid in a cash through the means of a Payment Challan. The application fee should be paid in any branch of Punjab National Bank only.

Application fee for Stenographer and Upper Division Clerk: Rs. 225 only.
Application fee for Multitasking Staff: Rs. 125 only.

How to apply: Candidates should apply online only at the website of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Punjab. After applying online, candiates should take a printout of the form and send it alongwith other required enclosures to the following address on or before the last date.
