Sardar Patel University came into existence in the year 1955 and the university was given this name in honor of the great freedom fighter of the nation Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The university has earned B grade status from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

Pay scale: Pay scales for the positions are:

• Professor: Rs. 37,400-67,000/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/-

• Associate Professor : Rs. 37,400-67,000/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,000/-

• Assistant Professor : Rs. 15,600-39,100/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/-

The above pay bands carry other allowances admissible as per Government of India rules.
