There are three main universities in Indore which includes Devi Ahilya University, Indian Institute of Management-IIM and Indian Institute of Technology-IIT. All these universities are included in the list of leading universities in Madhya Pradesh. Transportation to Indore is not a tedious task as it is in the centre part connected by all means of transportation.

Devi Ahilya University

It is a major university in Indore and therefore is also referred to as Indore University. There are 153 affiliated colleges all together providing education in UG/PG level comprising all basic and professional disciplines. University alone has 6000 students in its campus and about 120000 students in its affiliated colleges. University comprises of 16 faculties. Courses offered include arts courses, engineering courses, medical courses, science courses, management courses, commerce courses, agricultural science and technology courses and also information technology courses. There is a central library, centre for e-business, and schools for all mentioned courses available within the campus.

Indian institute of management-IIM

It is the sixth IIM which was established by the Central Government along with the State Governement. It has top grade facilities available inside the campus. It has very large classrooms, which can accommodate about 120 students. Roads, rails and air connect Indore, so transportation to this place is easy. It provides great IT facilities with fast and reliable computer network of about 1300 nodes.

There are hostel facilities available for all PGP students with separate accommodation for men and women. The placement cell at IIM is too good with placement training provided from the beginning onwards. Then towards the end of the course, highly reputed organizations visit the institute to carry out placements.

Indian institute of Technology

It is a highly reputed engineering and technology institute for higher education, which is included in the institutions of national importance. It is one of the 8 new IITs, which the government of India has initiated. It offers 4 years B.Tech programs and Ph.D. programs of all disciplines. Faculties are available for school of basic sciences, school of engineering and for humanities and social sciences.

There are separate hostel facilities provided for girls and boys with mess facilities. It also provides a visual classroom facility, which is a highlight of the institute. There is computer centre and also a central library available within the campus. There is a bank and a post office located at a very short distance from the institute. IIT-I also offers various scholarships and fellowships. The institute also have tie ups with several hospitals.
