University of Delhi 2011 Operational Research
University of Delhi offers Post Graduate Programmes in Operational Research in its North Campus and South Campus. The programme M.Sc. Operational Research is available at North Campus while MA/M.Sc. Applied Operational Research programme is offered at South Campus of University of Delhi. All these programmes are of two years duration and are offered through Department of Operational Research, University of Delhi. MSc. Operational Research programme has 60 seats while MA/M.Sc. Applied Operational Research programme has 30 seats.
Admission to these programmes is based on a common entrance test conducted by University of Delhi. The candidates who are shortlisted through the entrance test are called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview after which final selections are made.
Courses offered by the University of Delhi:
• M.Sc Operational Research (North Campus)
• MA / M.Sc Applied Operational Research (South Campus)
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates having a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree with atleast 55% aggregate and atleast two papers in Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Statistics/Operational Research. Also a candidate should be atleast 20 years of age as on 1st week of October, 2011.
Availability of Application forms:
The forms will be available from Department of Operational Research, University of Delhi. The form can also be obtained by post by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form.
Few Important Notifications for candidates aspiring to obtain the application form:
1. The candidates have to fill up the entire application form in their own hand witting. No duplication will be allowed in any case and that the University will not entertain any kind of requisite letter in the after wards case.
2. The candidates are also advised to provide a specimen of their signature at the space provided in the Application Form with a blue or black inked ball pen. No fountain is allowed and that failure to follow this step will result in cancelling of their application form then and there.
3. The candidates who are obtaining their copy of application from through post have to first send a requite letter to the concerned authority within the address given below and should be filled up in their own handwriting. Furthermore, they should also provide a specimen of their signature at the back side of the Demand Draft.
4. The candidates also should make it a point to forward the application within the due date, in order to eliminate he chances of late application, in the case of which the form is liable to be cancelled.

• Common Entrance Test: March 2nd week, 2011
• Last date for submission of application form: February 1st week, 2011

Dear Sir,
I am a helicopter pilot in the Indian Air Force. I graduated from National Defence Academy (BSc in Maths and Physics from JNU, Delhi). Thereafter I have completed my MSc in Defence Studies from Defence Services Staff College(Madras University), and Master of Management Sciences (MMS) from College of Defence Management (Osmania University). In MMS, Operational Research and Statistics were two main subjects, in which I have obtained distinction. I am also an experimenal test pilot (from Air Force Test Pilot School). I now wish to Pursue my Phd in Operational Research. Are my qualifications sufficient to enroll, or is a MSc in Maths/ Computer Science mandatory?
