Graduates as well as Post Graduates who have studied Mathematics/ Operational Research as subjects are eligible to pursue Post Graduation in Operational research. Minimum mark required for eligibility is 55%. Admission to the course is carried out on the basis of performance in Common Entrance Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview conducted by the University.

Eligibility Criterion for M.Sc in Operational Research in Delhi University

Candidates who have completed Post Graduation or Under Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University are eligible to apply for this course. They should have studied at least two papers in any of the following subjects in graduation level.

  • Operational Research
  • Mathematics
  • Computer Science
  • Statistics

Candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in qualifying examination. Those who have completed graduation under 10+2+3 scheme are only eligible to apply. Final year candidates can also apply for this course. Such candidates will have to submit the originals of mark sheet and other documents at the time of admission. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Class are eligible to claim the relaxation reserved to them in terms of seats and marks.

Admission Procedure of M.Sc in Operational Research under Delhi University

Admission to the course is carried out on the basis of composite scores obtained in

  • Entrance Exam
  • Group Discussion
  • Personal Interview

Written test will contain multiple choice objective type questions. Maximum marks allotted for written test is 80. The question book let contains two parts such as General Aptitude and Quantitative Aptitude. Questions from General Aptitude carry 20 marks. There will be questions from topics such as

  • General English
  • Comprehension
  • Logic
  • Analytical ability
  • Reasoning

Quantitative Aptitude will contain questions from topics such as Basic Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science and Statistics. Aspirants can expect graduate level questions. Total marks allotted for this section is 60. Maximum time allotted for the entire test is three hours.

Those who have cleared the written test will be short listed for Group Discussion as per their rankings in written test. Candidates’ communication skill will be evaluated in group discussion. Maximum mark allotted is 10. Final selection is on the basis of performance in personal interview conducted by the department concerned. Short listed candidates will be provided admission in any of the colleges listed above.
