The University of Kashmir was set up immediately after the independence. It was established by the State Government with its head quarters at Srinagar. The University of Kashmir is a member of the Association of Indian Universities. This University has been awarded with an A++ grade for its outstanding contribution in the higher education field. The University conducts M.A Sociology entrance examination every year for admitting the qualified candidates into the post graduate course in Sociology.

Structure of University of Kashmir M.A Sociology Entrance Exam

The entrance examination conducted by the University of Kashmir will be in objective type multiple choice pattern. The question paper comprises of a total of 60 questions carrying one mark each. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be reduced. Candidates get most of the questions from the core subjects of the under graduate program. The candidate has to finish the examination within a time period of 120 minutes.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should hold a graduate degree in Sociology or allied subjects from the Kashmir University or from any other reputed Universities.  Students those who are studying in the final year of the degree course can also apply to the above said masters program.

How to Apply?

The aspirants can procure the application form and the admission brochure from the counters of the University on the payment of Rs 250/-as the application fee.  The forms can also be obtained from the website of the Kashmir University. In this case the candidates have to deposit the application fees in any of the branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd. After filling the applications completely, it should be sent to the Dean of Academic Affairs, University of Kashmir, Srinagar. The applications should reach the specific address before the last date.

How to fill the Form?

Candidates have to read the instructions thoroughly before filling the application form. The columns have to be filled carefully by following the guide lines given in the information brochure. Candidates have to fill all the mandatory fields as the incompletion of the application form leads to the rejection of the same. The students have to furnish the exact details regarding the qualifications.
