This test is conducted by Association of Private Medical & Dental Colleges of Uttar Pradesh for the admission to the BDS course. This is a five year course recognized by Dental Council of India.

Structure of UPCAT Dental for BDS

UPCAT include an objective test with duration of three hours. Medium of this test will be English. Subjects of this test and their specified number of questions with marks are given below.

• Physics – 50 questions with 50 marks
• Chemistry-50 questions with 50 marks
• Zoology-50 questions with 50 marks
• Botany -50 questions with 50 marks

One mark can be gained by giving correct answer to a question. In all other cases no mark will be gained by the candidate. This objective test will present four choices before candidate, from which he/she have to select a choice as answer. Three parts will be present on the answer sheet out which first one should be filled with ink and the remaining should be filled using HB pencil.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have minimum of 17 years of age to attain eligibility to apply for the test. Also candidate should pass higher secondary examination or Indian School Certificate Examination. In their qualifying examination candidate should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and mathematics as subjects. If not so then he/she should have secured minimum 50% marks, when the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology are taken together in the qualifying examination. SC/ST candidates need to possess only 40% in this case.

How to Apply?

Two modes are available for the applicant to collect the application form i.e. through post or from specified centers.

Through post: For this candidate need to draw DD of Rs.1100 payable at Bareilly in the name of “Association of Private Medical & Dental Colleges of U.P.” Then he/she has to send letter mentioning name, address and phone number along with this DD to the address given below:

Oriental Bank of Commerce, Springdell Branch, Bichpuri Road, Pilibhit Bypass Road, Bareilly – 243006, Uttar Pradesh, India

From specified centers: For this applicant need to pay Rs.1000 personally at any member institute or any branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce. They will give form to the applicants on paying cash.

How to fill the Form?

Block letters should be used for filling this form. While specifying name, date of birth etc on form confirm it is same as specified in SSLC or Degree certificate. Paste recent color photograph on the form with passport size if specified. Mandatory field should not leave without filling. If there is any field to specify category, carefully fill it without mistake. Otherwise relaxation given for specified categories will not be granted to the applicants.

Every field should be filled before forwarding the form to the authority.
