Vinayaka Missions was formed in the year 1981 by the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamingal Medical Education and Charitable Trust. The mission was conferred the status of university in the year 2001 by the Government of India’s Ministry of Human Resource Development according to the recommendations of the University Grants Commission as a means of acknowledging the high quality of education and infrastructural facilities offered by it. It is the 48th University in India established for the purpose of achieving excellence in education and to convert education as a tool for the betterment of the society as a whole. The mission of the university is to spread education internationally in the streams of arts & science, management, engineering, homeopathy, paramedicine, dentistry and medicine.
