Miranda House for Women is a residential college for women working as a constituent unit of Delhi University and this college came into existence in the year 1948. The building of the college is built in warm red brick with spacious and cool corridors, this building was recently declared as a heritage building, and steps are being taken to maintain the pristine glory of the building.

The college also has its own placement cell to guide the students in getting appropriate jobs. The college is offering Bachelor of Arts and Science Courses in different subjects and the list of courses offered by the college is given below:

Basis of selection of students for the aforesaid courses:

Selection of candidates for the B.A and B. Sc courses is done based on the marks secured by the students in the senior secondary examination conducted by the CBSE or other equivalent board. For admission to PG courses, marks secured by the students in the UG courses in appropriate branches are taken into consideration.

Seats for reserved category:

In the admission process, 7.5% of the total seats are reserved for ST candidates and 15% are reserved for SC candidates. In addition, 5% of the seats are reserved for wife/widows/children of personnel of the parliamentary/armed forces, disabled or killed while at duty, and 3% of the seats are reserved for physically challenged students.

Procedure to apply:

Students should apply to the college by using the centralized Pre-admission form of the Delhi University. This application form along with prospectus can be obtained from the counter of the college after the announcement of higher secondary examination results.

Activities at the college:

The college is encouraging students to participate in different cultural activities that are conducted during some of the special days at the college like founder’s day, annual festival, etc… The college also conducts symposium, NSS and NCC activities and sports activities to ensure overall development of the students.
