Public Service Commission of West Bengal called as PSCWB is comprised of a chairman, a secretary and three other members and the commission conducts different recruitment exams for selection of candidates to government job positions in West Bengal.

Public Service Commission, West Bengal has invited applications from eligible Indian Citizens for to apply for West Bengal Judicial Service Examination, 2012 for the preliminary examination to be conducted by the commission on May 2012 and here are the details regarding the notification issued by the commission in this respect:

Name of the Examination: West Bengal Judicial Service Examination

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancy in judicial services of West Bengal is 30, which is divided among different category of candidates as given below:

Unreserved – 19 (01 for Ex-servicemen)

BC – Category A - 03

BC – Category B - 02

SC – 03

ST – 02

PH - 01

Pay Scale: Candidates appointed for West Bengal Judicial Services will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.27,700-770-33090-920-40450-1080-44770/- and other allowances according to the government rules.

Eligibility requirements:

Education: Candidates must be degree holders in law from an institution or university recognized by central or state government and they should have enrolled as an advocate in the Bar Council of India in any state of India or Union Territory of India on the date of examination. They should also be eligible to speak, write and read in Bengali and this is not essential for candidates who are Nepali speakers.

About the Exam:

Examination will comprise of three stages being preliminary examination (MCQ format), Final Examination (Conventional Type – Written) and Personality Test. Only candidates clearing the previous examination will be called for further stage of selection process.

Application Fee:

Candidates will have to enclose along with their application a fee of Rs.210 in the form of Indian Postal Order that must be purchased on the date after publication of advertisement and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal or in the form of Receipted challan from a government treasury in West Bengal or RBI, Kolkata. Reserved category and PH candidates are exempted from payment of any fee.

Application in prescribed format as given in the website of the commission at www.pscwb.org.in might be submitted in person to the office of the commission or through normal post or speed post before the 12th of March 2012 to the address given below:
