Aspirants who are interested to take admission for Ph.D course in NMIMS need to be post graduates in pharmacy. It is necessary to pass admission test by NMIMS to join for Ph.D course.  Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Biotech, Pharmacology etc are some of the main specialization streams that can be opted for Ph.D course. On qualifying Ph.D selection test, SOP based presentation and Personal Interview need to be also attended by candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for Ph.D in Pharmacy in Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) it is essential to fulfill the following eligibility criteria’s –

  • M.Pharm with 60% marks
  • Candidates need to complete B.Pharm with 60% marks

It is mandatory for candidates to complete graduate as well as post graduate degree as a full time course. The total number of seats for Ph.D in Pharmacy in NMIMS is 28 seats. Candidates can take up Ph.D degree in any of the following specialization streams –

  • Quality Assurance
  • Pharmacology
  • Pharmaceutics
  • Pharmaceutical Chemistry
  • Pharmaceutical Biotech

Selection Procedure

Candidates who want to join for Ph.D in Pharmacy course in Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) must first attend the admission test conducted by this institute. It is mandatory for candidates to focus on those subjects studied during M.Pharm course level for the selection test. Candidates who are able to qualify written examination must compulsorily make a SOP based presentation at the second level of selection step. Personal Interview will be conducted as a final selection step. It is necessary for candidates to discuss about their research area interest during interview.

It is mandatory for candidates to perform well in all the selection processes as the final merit list will be prepared purely on the basis of their performance in all the three selection steps.

Apart from this, candidates who attended any of the following examinations are exempted from attending NMIMS Ph.D admission test –

  • UGC-CSIR-NET
  • SET
  • JRF
  • ICMR
  • GATE
  • DST
  • DBT

In this case, candidates can directly attend Personal Interview.

Admission Process

It is necessary to apply for Ph.D course through online. Candidates must log in to official website www.nmims.edu and complete online registration. Along with this, it is also compulsory for candidates to take a DD of Rs 1000/-. Candidates should also attach the following documents along with the application form and DD –

  • Graduation and Post Graduation certificate (Attested copy)
  • Graduation and Post Graduation mark sheets (Attested copy)
  • SOP-statement
  • Work experience certificate (if any)
  • UGC-CSIR-NET/ JRF/ ICMR/ GATE/ SET/DST/DBT certificate

Candidates must send the application form together with Demand Draft and other specified documents to “Deputy Registrar (Admission), SVKM’s NMIMS, VL Mehta Road, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai-400056.
