Admission Process for PGP in IIM, Indore

Bachelor degree holders with a minimum of 50% marks can apply for Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) in Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore. Initial short listing of candidates is done on the basis of CAT score. Final selection process is made on the basis of academics, written admission test (WAT) and personnel interview.

Eligibility Criteria for PGP in IIM

Candidates applying for PGP in IIM Indore should hold Bachelor’s degree from recognized University with 50% marks/ CGPA equivalent. SC/ST and Differently Abled (DA) candidates require 45% marks only. The marks percentage is calculated in accordance with the practice of University/Institution, from where the candidate has obtained the degree.

Grades/CGPA conversion to percentage of marks is made on the basis of certified procedure of candidate’s University/Institute. If the particular University/Institution is not having any scheme for conversion of CGPA then the equivalence to percentage of marks is established by dividing CGPA of particular candidate by maximum possible CGPA and the result is multiplied with 100. Those who are appearing final exams of bachelor’s degree or equivalent examination and those who are waiting for final results can also apply.

Selection Process for PGP in IIM, Indore

The applicants should appear Common Admission Test (CAT) before seeking admissions to PGP in IIM Indore. The IIM Indore adopts certain criteria for short listing candidates for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview. This process consists of initial screening and final short listing for WAT and PI. In initial screening session, the score obtained in CAT is considered for short listing. The cut-off marks required for CAT are as follows;

  • For General category; Section 1 – 85.00, Section 2  - 85 and overall score 90.00
  • For NC-OBC category; Section 1 – 75.00, Section 2 – 75.00 and overall score 80.00
  • SC, ST, PWD category; Section 1 – 50.00, Section 2 – 50.00 and overall score 90.00

These cut-offs are tentative and can be modified by IIM Indore during the time of short listing the candidates. Final screening for WAT and PI are done for candidates short listed on the basis of CAT score. Merit list of the candidates are prepared category wise on the basis of academic performances in SSC, HSC and bachelors degree. Final selection is made in accordance with academic records, WAT and P.I. Weightage given for each section during selection process is as follows.

  • SSC – 17%
  • HSC – 17%
  • Graduation – 16%
  • WAT – 15%
  • P.I — 35%

Selected candidates will be given with admission after verifying qualifying documents. Reserved category candidates and persons with disabilities are availed with relaxation.
