To study your post graduate courses in india with IIM OR with other best insititutions, you have to write online exam namly CAT - Common Admission Test conducted by IIM - Indian Institute of Management.Since 2010 dates for CAT are already over so i provide you for 2011 exam information.

Elgibility for CAT Exam
The CAT Exam candidate should have a Bachelor?s Degree, and at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)categories], or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor?s degree examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.

CAT stand for COMMON ADMISSION TEST
CAT is the only exam for admission in IIMs after any graduation course.
After Btech or in final year you can appear in cat and you must score above 98.5 percentile to get admission in IIM.
IIm ahemdabad is the best one in all IIMS.
CAT exam conducts every year in a NOV-DEC.
From last year CAT exam is online .
So prepare the best and give best in CAT and get admission in best IIMA.....

Full form of CAT is Common Admission Test. This exam is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management. This is one of the most toughest exam to crack to pursue MBA. So if you have plans of giving this exam then you should start preparing much in advance as the competition level is going to be very high.

To sit for CAT exam you need to be a graduate. That is the basic qualification required. The subject you choose at graduation level is of little significance here since you can get the bachelor's degree in any discipline of your choice.

For the general category candidates the percentage to secure at graduation level is 50% of marks in aggregate. For SC or ST candidates the percentage to secure at graduation level is 45% of marks.

Even final year students about to sit for the final year exam or awaiting the result of the final year exam can also give this exam. It's just that at the time of admission you need to show the mark sheets to prove that you have passed successfully.

The exam consists of the following stages one needs to cross:-

1. Written Exam
2. Group Discussion and
3. Personal Interview

Test Pattern At A Glance:-

1. Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation- 30 Questions- 70 mins
2. Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning- 30 Questions- 70 mins

If you have plans of appearing for the exam this year then let me tell you that the notifications are already out. From Jul 29 - Sep 24, 2013 the sale of vouchers will start and the exam is going to take place somewhere between Oct 16 - Nov 11, 2013. The date needs to be locked by you and also the time when you want to give the exam.

Application Procedure:-

Follow the simple steps to complete the process:-

1. Get a scratch voucher from any listed branches of Axis Bank.
   
2. Then you have to register online at the CAT website.
   
3. You will be asked to choose the date then after which you will need to choose the 10 a.m. session or the 3:30 p.m. session.
   
4. On getting selected you will have to submit original degree certificate and mark sheets along with your photocopies for verification.
