National Institute of Technology Durgapur was established in the year 1960 under an act of the parliament of India. It has been declared as the institute of national importance. The admissions to the undergraduate courses at NIT Durgapur is done through the competitive examination.

Job profile:

Candidates can apply for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor depending on their educational qualification.

Educational Qualifications:

Candidates are required to have Ph.d. with first class degree at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in engineering is required for the posts of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor.

No. of posts: There are 18 posts available for Professor designation, 26 posts for Associate Professor designation and 35 posts for the designation of Assistant Professor.

Pay scale:

Professor: Rs. 37400-67000 + AGP of Rs. 10000/-
Associate Professor: Rs. 37400-67000 + AGP of Rs. 9000/-
Assistant Professor: Rs. 15600-39100 + AGP of Rs. 6000/-

Selection process:

Candidates will have to undergo a written examination. Candidate’s performance in the examination will play a major part in the final selection for the posts.
