im in 2nd year dng btech biotech n im interestd in fooding stream..so hw cn i gt into it???is der ny specialisation i cn do in biotech fr it...

I am a BSc biotecvh graduate of 2008 and a MRes graduate (UK) of 2009, I am still jobless but yes I think it all depends on the talent of the person, I am not talented and took life very whimsically hence my condition but yes if you are very determined about this field then please go ahead and keep on looking for more opportunities to learn more, best wishes

A simple Biotech has very limited future..YOu should definitely go for higher course
As per my knowledge a simple B.Tech graduate gets a meagre 12,000-15,000 per month in INDIA
Scope outside India is good but still you need to go for higher education in order to make mark in the industry
Research and Development is on the rise
Future seems to be bright

should i do b-tech (biotechnology), please tell it is a good field of sucess or not, and what is the scope of it and salary.

i have done bsc(hons) Biotechnology..Can i opt for mtech biotech in usa n canada..hw will it prove beneficial over msc biotech.. because am not soo keen in doing phd n all?? suggest

I have done MTech in biotechnology.the condition of biotech in india is pathetic.My college seniors are there who are doin jobs in biotech industries of 10-15 thousand after MTech,some of them are CSIR-NET LS,ICMR qualified also.bus in academic field scope is better after Mtech u can earn around 25-25 thousand per month.U can make good money in job without having any knowledge in ur stream,but in biotech it is not possible,for research experience in lab work is necessary.In India this field is not worthy as it seems now.

Just dont opt for Btech biotech as it has no future or job prospects after doing a btech with biotechnology....
if interested in biotechnology field go BSC nd then MSC it ll feth you a good job...
and remember that in biotechnology there is hardly any industrial job ...only research job...so choose wisely...

When biotech companies comes they will take u to sales ans marketing[package 1.5-2.0],...no one will put u in R&D. even after m.tech the value and pakages is less. if u really wanna persue b.tech biotech then try and do it from some IIT and try for ms by giving gre on scholarship basis clearing ur ielts and toefl...get to some of the bestest universities and if luck is with u which is a really imp factor in biotech then u may get a good package..but then if u dont get a job after so much of education and money u will get frustated...so all u would be left with an option to do phd..u will turn 30-35 by time u will finish ur phd and then u will start earning.if u have patience and money and family backing only then opt for biotech..else do simple bsc and clear cat etc and do mba...

I have chosen biotech btech because of my passion in this industry....but even after securing very high marks in my btech xm I am jobless because like most of my friends I didnt choose to shift to the software industry....choose biotech only if you have the patience and guts to go through this...it may require a certain time to land in proper place....this stream requires passion and urge for research....if you have it go ahead....you need not think about money then......

A BIOTECHNOLOGIST WITHOUT A JOB IN BIOTECHNOLOGY ::::: Dear aspirants don't even think of opting for biotechnology neither M Sc nor B.Tech , n even B Tech is more lethal then M Sc bcoz it takes a lot time as well as money. I am an B Tech graduate in BIOTECHNOLOGYand not even me , the other guys from my college(Bioengineering : Genetics,BIOPROCESS,fOOD PROCESS,BIO INFORMATICS,BIO MEDICAL Etc ) couldn't get any job in this industry(ONLY IN SOFTWARE INDUSTRY,"I AM IN WIPRO\') n foreign jobs is just a big Lie.
EX. : IN my University SRM University only BIOCON came n Recruit only 4 students with a salary package of 12000/- PM.

After completing your B.tech Biotechnology you will get good job with high salary pacakage. In now a days there are very good scope of Biotechnology in India as
well as in foreign. So, after completing this course you will get salary around
15,000 to 20,000 per month and if you will get jobs in foreign, then you will
get more salary in dollars.

there are no jobs above 18,000 P.m. . and u will find 2-3 jobs in a month. Thousands B.tech biotech. grads. are jobless in india ....they are either Going for phd. or IT jobs and getting low payments.

I would request all of you, who are saying that there is a great scope of job and big salary packages after doing B.Tech in Biotechnology, to just provide a single name of the company or organization that Recruits a B.Tech in Biotechnology/ provide a salary of 15-20k...

I am a B.Tech Biotech pass out 2010 batch...Me and none off my class mates have been offered a single job by any biotech company...
And would like to make you know that my college is a top 10 rank private college of INDIA...

Jobs are available but only in IT sector..

So, please choose some other field...
Else do Bsc, Msc, M.Tech & then Phd and earn about 15,000 to 25,000 until you attain some experience of about 2-3 years and then go for big research work and after some 15-20 years you may be a person who could earn 35-50k per month..

Choose wisely...

Guys, There is no Relevance in doing a B.Tech in biotechnology, Its a research Subject and not an Engineering subject, its just a short cut of obtaining eligibility in 4-years for M.Tech, nothing else..that leads to the insufficiency of knowledge...

Also I would recommend you all to choose a less diversified field like Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bio-medical, Bio-process, Paper technology, Pharma, Environment and Ecology, Bioinformatics, Genetic Engineering etc. rather than biotechnology because it will provide a in-depth knowledge of the your area...

But if you go for b.tech biotechnology you end-up studying everything but knowledge of NOTHING...
