Re: Which college to prefer to pursue correspondence law course of bachelor level?
As per my knowledge LLB in distance is not worthy if u pursue LLB through distance learning, that degree is not eligible for "legal practice in a court of law".To pursue a degree in law, one has to pass his 10+2 examination or an examination equivalent to that. There are several institution which offer the course of LLB through distance learning. And according to the Bar Council of India,it has imposed age restrictions for LLB courses. The amended rules on age limit is as follows, maximum age for admission for five years LLB course is 20 and the maximum age for the three years LLB courses is 30.
Some of the institutions is listed below. Dr ambedkar college of law, tilak road Jitendra chauhan college of law, vileparle west Government Law College,Churchgate Railway Station Kishinchand Chellaram Law College,Churchgate Gopaldas Jhamatmal Advani Law College, Bandra West Siddharth college of law, anand bhawan, d.n. road New law college, senapati bapat mardg, matunga. |

Re: Which college to prefer to pursue correspondence law course of bachelor level?
I am not sure whether your mom would be able to pursue LLB. Firstly I would like to know if your mother is serious about pursuing law as the career. If she is then correspondence degree is worthless.
I will not advice you correspondence degree if your mother is planning to become lawyer. The simple reason is that LLB is not offered under correspondence and the course which is offered, Bar Council of India does not recognize it. To make it simple, if your mother completes law through correspondence, she will not be able to enroll with Bar Council and therefore it will be impossible to practice as lawyer for her. The problem she will face with regular degree is the age limit. I am not sure whether she will be able to apply since the age limit is 30 years for the course. If you has crossed this age limit then there is no way to do LLB. In that case the correspondence is only option but I have already mentioned the disadvantage of the course. Unless she want to pursue Law just for fun, there is no reason to pursue it through correspondence. In the end, your mother may have to consider some other option. She can pursue post graduation and then apply for NET since there is no upper age limit to become lecturer. LLB Eligibility 1. Your mother should have graduation degree. 2. Must have secured 45-50 percent marks in graduation. 3. There is 5 percent relaxation for SC/ST. 4. The upper age limit is 30 years. 5. Five years relaxation for SC/ST. |
