A candidate aspiring to become a Company Secretary has to go through three levels of company secretary scourses and a rigorous training schedules. Three levels of a Company Secretary Courses are:

* Company Secretary Foundation Courses: The company secretary candidate should have at least passed 10+2 examinations to get into the Foundation Course. This is a basic-level course, which is of eight-month duration ( 8 Months).
* Company Secretary Intermediate Courses: The company secretary candidate should have passed Foundation Course of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India or ICWAI, ICAI or got their graduation degree or a Master’s degree to get enrolled into the Intermediate Course. The duration of the Intermediate Course is nine months ( 9 Months).
* Company Secretary Final Courses: The company secretary candidate becomes eligible to sit for the final course after he completes and clears the Intermediate Course.

The Company Secretary Courses broadly cover subjects like English, Economics, Financial Accounting, Business Communications, Business Environment, Corporate Restructuring, Management Information Systems, Banking and Insurance, World Trade Organization, Corporate Secretarial Practice, Company Law, International Trade, Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations, Joint Ventures and collaborations and commercial law.

There is no entrance exam conducted by Institute of Company Secretaries of India for admission to CS course. The minimum eligibility to pursue CS course is +2 or equivallent from a recognised institute.
With the above mentioned eligibility, you can enroll yourself for the foundation course. the duration of foundation course is 8 months.
The foundation course is followed by intermediate course which is of 9 months and the same is followed by final course.
During the course, you will need to undergo various practical training.After successful completion of the training course, you will be awarded the membership of Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

The time period required for the completion of CS course depends on whether you are an undergraduate or graduate & in which stage you wish to joi the course - foundation or intermediate.

If you are an undergraduate then you have to clear 3 stages viz.

1.Foundation course: The minimum eligibility to gain entry in the Foundation Course is a pass in 10+2 examination or its equivalent in any stream. The course is of 8 months duration.

2. Intermediate course: A pass in the Foundation Course Examination of the ICSI/Graduation degree or a Master's degree/Pass in ICWAI, ICAI can allow you entry in the intermediate course. The course is of 9 months.

3. Final course: Once you pass the Intermediate Course you automatically become eligible for admission to the Final Course.

If you are a graduate you have to clear only the intermediate & final course.

I want to tell you that with the growing importance now being accorded to corporate governance, company secretaryship has assumed much greater relevance in the corporate world. Further, economic growth heralded by economic reforms has opened up new vistas of economic activity leading for introduction of day-to-day amendments and notifications incorporating various rules and regulations which lie within the professional ambit of a Company Secretary (CS). This also has led to a greater demand for Company Secretaries.

There is scope for specialisation in company secretaryship. There is a Shortage of skilled professionals in areas like (Foreign Exchange Managment Act (FEMA), Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI), labour, banking and taxation. Further, before any merger takes place, the company has to go through a 'due diligence' process. This process involves a thorough assessment of the state of the company and a CS is the most appropriately qualified professional to carry out such a function for the corporates and consultants. Another area which is gaining currency these days is the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), which falls within the expertise of a company secretary.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for appearing in the foundation or the intermediate course, you must register with the ICSI at least eight months in advance for the CS course. Admission to the course is open throughout the year. The examinations are held twice in June and December every year. The total number of examination centres is 55. The overseas centre is located in Dubai. To qualify as a CS you have to clear five papers in foundation exam, eight in intermediate and nine in final examination.

Generally speaking, you can at least get Rs.10,000 per month. But in the first five years, a CS should not really focus on salary but try to develop a good work profile.

Friend there is as such no any requirements for Percentage in the exam of Cs. There are three stages in the exam which has to be cleared by you first. THese are foundation after 12
Intermediate (you can directly go for this stage if you are a graduate)
Final stage comprising of training

Yes, you are eligible for doing CS exam. you should not go for foundation as you are graduate and you will get registered for intermediate after the completion of which you will go for final which involves training also.
So get registered for the CS exam .

Look friend if you start from beginning from foundation you can take minimum 4 years as you have to apply for it nearly 8 months earlier and get yourself registered for foundation exam. Once you clear your foundation course you have to register yourself for intermediate and if you clear this stage you will be eligible for final course which comprise of training.
Its a time taking process with hard work.
The subjects which you have to study are accounts, laws, management, economics, computers.etc.

company Secretary course duration is not fixed as such.since it is a competitive exam it depends on you how quickly you can clear the exam.the course is of three stages.1st-foundation,2nd-intermediate,3rd-final.at each stage you have to give competitive exam and if you clear all the three stages in first attempt then you will take 4 years.rest it depends on you how you clear these exams.

If you are are a graduate than you have to get yourself registered in CS executive program. Cs is a correspondance course you will be provided with the study material once you are registered for it/.
The cos or fees is RS3000/

One thing I want to say that since you are MBA you will get a good job.
But since you are interested in in CS it will just add up in your qualification if you complete it successfully and your demand will increse so its of no doubt that its beneficial to you but mind it that its a time taking process.

But since you are interested in it you can go for it. To built a better career we have to do some sacrifices so if you want you can carry on it.
It will increase your demand
