Knowledge management is a systematic and technical procedure of controlling intellectual standards and practices of an organization which is achieved through proper training and coursework. It is a program included in BCA which puts forward certain critical topics for study. First are the definitions of the constructs along with the theory of knowledge and information and differences in organization and individual knowledge. Second is knowledge renewal and transformation wherein the process of knowledge generation is theorized. From conceptualization to preservation to propagation of knowledge, everything is put down in this. Long term knowledge management programs are taught along this. Third is knowledge and organizational design, which focuses on the organizational and architectural factors required for exploitation of knowledge. Sharing and transferring knowledge is the next important thing in organizations for proper exchange of ideas between units of work. Role of knowledge in competition and networking is given due space in the syllabus.
