The cut off marks for Joint Entrance exam 2016:
1. General candidate: 100 marks. 2. OBC candidates: 80 marks. 3. SC candidate: 52 marks. 4. ST candidate: 48 marks. You have scored only 60 marks in JEE, even if you belong to SC/ST then also there is no chance for you to get admission in any National Institute of Technology. |

Re: Can I get admission in NIT with 60 marks in JEE Main and 78.33% in 12th?
From my point of view, you are not aware of cut off marks of Joint Entrance Main examination this year. The cut off marks for general category candidates was 100 marks, 80 marks for OBC candidates.
It was 52 for SC and 48 marks for ST candidates. If you belong to open or OBC category then you have not qualified JEE main exam if you belong to SC/ST category then also 60 marks out of 360 in JEE Main is not enough to get admission in any NIT. You can not get admission in any NIT with these marks. |

According to data which you have given 60 marks is quite low and it will be difficult to get admission in good NIT colleges.
You must score high marks that is above 140 marks to come under list and you will be eligible to get good college for your bright future. Every year there is a cut off marks and on that basis you will be qualified. |

As, you have not qualified in Mains and marks in JEE examination is not much better, so it will tough to get admission in NIT.
The allocation of seat in NIT is on the basis of weightage in Main and board examination. There is 60% weightage to JEE marks and 40% for board examination. So, you are not eligible to get admission in NIT with score but if you want to check any possibility you can get your rank as the rank is declared. |

Re: Can I get admission in NIT with 60 marks in JEE Main and 78.33% in 12th?
You can't know whether you can get admission in NIT or not until the counseling process of JEE Main examination is completed. Admissions in NIT are offered on basis of JEE Main examination rank through counselling process. The JEE Main examination rank is calculated by taking 60% weightage of your JEE Main examination marks and 40% weightage of your 12th standard board examination marks. Since, you have good aggregate in 12th standard but, you have very less marks in JEE Main examination, so, there are very less chances for you to get admission in NIT.

Sorry to say you are not eligible to get admission in NIT with 60 marks in JEE Main and 78.33% in 12th. For getting admission in National Institute of Technology you need to score more than 150 marks in JEE MAIN examination. My suggestion to you is that you can apply for admission in private college because there are lot of college available in India which offer admission to you after 60 marks in JEE Main and 78.33% in 12th.

It will be very difficult for you to get admission in NIT with just 60 marks in JEE Main if you belong to general category.
There is chance of admission only when you belong to reserved category and that is also very slim chance. |

Re: Can I get admission in NIT with 60 marks in JEE Main and 78.33% in 12th?
I am sorry to say but your JEE Mains score as well as your 12th standard board exams score are both very low.
On the basis of these scores you may get admission in some good engineering college but your chances of getting a seat in NIT are scarce. Though you haven't mentioned your caste so if you are an SC or ST you might get a seat in some not much reputed NITs and that too mostly for streams which are not that much in demand like Textile engineering etc. |
