Birla Institute of Technology in Mesra offers variety of undergraduate courses like B.E, B.Pharm, B.Arch and BHMCT to the aspirants. This institute specifies a maximum age of limit of 21 years for candidates who are applying for any of these undergraduate courses. Minimum educational qualification needed for such candidates is to have pass marks in 12th standard/I.Sc or any equivalent examination. Admission will be based on the score obtained in AIEEE, Aptitude test or qualifying examination.

Eligibility requirements

B.E - Those who are applying for B.E course should have passed 12th standard or any equivalent examination with Physics, English, Mathematics and one more subject according to AIEEE norms. Candidates need to obtain minimum of 60% marks while computing the average of marks obtained for these four subjects.

B.Pharm - To apply for B.Pharm course, one needs to pass 12th standard or any equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, English and any of the following subjects.

• Biology
• Biotechnology
• Mathematics

Also, they have to obtain minimum of 60% marks while taking the average of marks scored in Physics, Chemistry, English and optional subject.

B.Arch - Candidates who are interested to join B.Arch course should pass 12th standard or any equivalent examination with English and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. They should have studied any of following subjects during relevant qualifying examination.

• Physics
• Engineering Graphics
• Information Practice
• Chemistry
• Computer Science

Not only should have they studied the subjects mentioned above, but also they should have obtained minimum of 60% marks while taking these three subjects together.

BHMCT - Aspirants having pass marks in 12th standard or any equivalent examination can apply for BHMCT course. But they should have studied English as mandatory subject during their qualifying examination and should have obtained minimum of 60% marks while calculating the average marks of English and other best three subjects together.

Admission details

Those who possess specified eligibility requirements can take part in the counseling process held by Central Counseling Board (CCB) for B.E or B.Arch admission. In this case, AIEEE score of the candidates will be the main criteria for admission.

Foreign nationals or NRI candidates should forward their application to the office of Dean Admission in BITS, Mesra for B.E or B.Arch admission. They should pay an application fee of $200 through demand draft in the name of BITS and it should be payable at Ranchi. In this case, marks obtained in relevant qualifying examination will be considered as main criteria for B.E admission. An aptitude test will be conducted for those who want to join B.Arch course and admission will be based on that aptitude test score.

Candidates who want to join B.Pharm or BHMCT course should download the relevant application form from BITS website and forward it to Dean Admission in BITS, Mesra after filling it correctly. Counseling will be held for the candidates according to their marks obtained in 12th standard/ or any equivalent examination.
