Students who are part of Institute of Company Secretaries of India’s professional programme have to undergo financial treasury and Forex management papers during the course. This paper is a part of the course that will help the students to become secretaries of various institutions.

Paper pattern

The paper consists of a total of seven questions. The candidates have to attempt five questions. Question 1 is compulsory. From the rest, the candidates can choose any four questions. The paper does not contain any sections. Within a question there are sub questions. The questions are mainly based on finance. The paper is totally descriptive and consists of numerical problems too. Each question will carry a numerical problem. There are questions which ask the candidates to differentiate between different terms. According to the instructions in the question paper, the candidates have to clearly show the steps involved in working out the question paper.

Duration of the paper

The duration of the paper is three hours and the candidates have to complete answering the entire question within this time. No extra time will be allotted whatever the case is. Before the start of the exam, the candidates will be provided fifteen minutes for reading the question paper.

Marking scheme

The total mark of the paper is 100. The candidates have to answer five questions in all and each question carry different marks. Within a question, the sub questions carry equal marks.

About the subject

The subject is a related to economics. Numerical problems hold a lot of importance and without practice, scoring high in this subject is difficult. The best way to prepare for the exam is to read the books provided by ICSI. Referring to question banks containing previous year question papers will also help.
