Tamil Nadu SSLC is a Secondary School Leaving Certificate examination of the Tamil Nadu State Board. This exam is similar to class 10. English is one of the subjects which have total two papers and every paper consists of 100 marks. 

The given time duration to the students to complete the paper is two and half hours.

The English Paper II is divided into four sections, Section A, Section B, Section C and Section D. Section A has questions from reading section. It has multiple answer questions and all 5 questions are compulsory that you’d have to attempt. It has no optional questions and every question carries 1 mark.

Section B has questions from writing section. This has different kind of questions like making notes from the paragraph, rewriting the paragraph that can make a proper sense, rewrite of the sentences that makes meaningful sentences and precise writing.

Section C is grammar section and it has all grammar related questions. Fill in the blanks for 2 marks; match the clauses of 4 marks and other objective type questions on pronouns, verbs and on direct and indirect speech.

Section D is form translation section. This section total of 10 marks and it has 5 sentences of 1 mark each to translate into student first language. One paragraph is also given which is again of 5 marks and the student needs to translate it into his first language.
