Indian Engineering Services conducts an entrance test for recruiting individual in the post of Specialized Civil Engineering. The entrance exam comprises of two parts namely Stage I and Stage II. Stage I is basically a written based entrance exam that consist of 1000 marks and is based on Objective as well as Subjective Type Questions. Stage I is divided into two parts, the first test the basic knowledge and the other test the in depth knowledge. The Second Stage is composed of Personal Interview which has a total of 200 marks.

Stage I Pattern:

Stage I consist of Objective and subjective types questions having a total of 1000 marks. The question paper is divided into several sub parts namely General Studies, Civil Engineering I and II and General English. The paper is itself divided into two parts namely Section I and Section II. Section I deals in general ability and objective Civil Engineering papers and Section II deals with in-depth analysis of the specialized Engineering knowledge. Only after passing Stage I are candidates called for Stage II.

Stage II Pattern

Stage II comprises of Personal Interview. This has a total of 200 marks. This can also be defined as a Personality Test in non-written and strictly in verbal form.
