The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Examination every year. The exam is the entrance to the most coveted posts of IAS, IPS, and IRS etc. It is one of the toughest exams in the country. Because of the cut-throat competition in the exam, extensive preparation is required. Also there are nine papers in the main exam so the candidates need to be versatile. Civil Engineering is one of the subjects in the main examination. There are a few engineering subjects in the civil services examination, civil engineering being one of them. Though the syllabus is of degree level, but the syllabus is very extensive and also the level of questions is very high.
